JOB SUMMARY
\nWell Behavioral Health (WBH) is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our
\noutpatient mental health clinic based in Midtown Manhattan. The PMHNP provides psychiatric
\nevaluations, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care to adults presenting with serious
\nmental illness, trauma-related disorders, eating disorders, and general mental health conditions,
\nworking in close collaboration with our therapy and care coordination teams.
\n \nThis position begins part-time (2–3 days per week) with a defined ramp to full-time as the clinic's psychiatric caseload grows. This is an opportunity to build a panel from the ground up within a clinic that treats prescribers as clinical partners, not billing engines.
\n \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
\n• Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for new and existing clinic
\nclients
\n• Provide ongoing medication management, including monitoring for efficacy, side effects, and
\nadherence
\n• Treat a clinically diverse caseload including serious mental illness (psychotic disorders, bipolar
\ndisorder, treatment-resistant depression), trauma and dissociative presentations, eating disorders,
\nand general outpatient mental health conditions
\n• Coordinate care with individual therapists, group facilitators, and admissions staff as part of an
\nintegrated treatment team; participate in case conferences and treatment plan reviews
\n• Complete documentation in accordance with OMH Part 599 (MHOTRS) regulatory requirements
\nand clinic timelines, including psychiatric assessments, treatment plan contributions, and progress
\nnotes
\n• Order and interpret relevant labs; coordinate with primary care and outside prescribers as
\nclinically indicated
\n• Manage medication-related communication between sessions, including refill requests and
\npharmacy coordination, within clinic protocols
\n• Provide services via telehealth consistent with 14 NYCRR Part 596
\n• Participate in quality improvement, utilization review, and peer review activities as required by
\nOMH and payer contracts
\n \nQUALIFICATIONS
\n• Current, unrestricted NYS license and registration as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in
\nPsychiatry/Mental Health
\n• ANCC board certification as PMHNP-BC
\n• Active DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
\n• Eligible to enroll in NYS Medicaid and commercial payer panels
\n• 3,600+ hours of qualifying NP practice experience (NYS full practice authority) required
\n• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric prescribing experience; experience with SMI populations required
\n• Clinical experience or demonstrated competence with trauma-related disorders and eating
\ndisorders strongly preferred; willingness to train within WBH's clinical model required
\n• Comfort working within an integrated, team-based outpatient model where prescribing and
\ntherapy are coordinated, not siloed
\n• Strong documentation practices and familiarity with EHR-based workflows; experience in an OMH
\nArticle 31/MHOTRS setting a plus
\n \nSCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
\n• Part-time to start: 2–3 days per week (16–24 hours), virtual/telehealth
\n• Defined ramp to full-time (32–40 hours) as psychiatric caseload builds, targeted within 6–12
\nmonths
\n• Compensation: $80–$105 per hour, commensurate with experience; upon conversion to full-time,
\nannualized salary range of $150,000–$180,000
\n• Benefits eligibility at full-time conversion, including health insurance and PTO
